le sserafim's new album's pissing me off

GDLP

  1. pureflow

i don’t really think these openers make sense unless you’re standing live in a stadium

  1. boompala

the best part is when sakura sings the macarena. her voice makes sense for it. every other part of the song feels off base. when kazuha says pyjama it’s like, yeah, this song is pointless. you had the macarena!! you had gold! and you made THIS? what a fucking waste. lyrics like AI poetry bullshit; music video sodden with tacky AI imagery. i am worried eunchae can’t actually sing? thats so sly but i dunno. i denounce this song. as a fan, i will pretend it doesnt exist besides the 10 seconds when sakura sings the macarena.

  1. celebration

it’s not the genre… this is the kind of genre i listen to a lot. you know, when songs sound like someone kicking down a door, i’m all in. It’s more that I find this… annoying, in a rush, repetitive, aesthetically non-specific, and then after the drop, they drop the ball, and the song ends, and it becomes the problem of this whole album really: that the songs on the album sound like trailers for the real songs that don’t exist

  1. creatures

it’s maddening putting this after celebration, because Creatures does what celebration thinks it was doing. Creatures is the only song on the album that has all its parts in check. it’s suited and booted. i dont have any criticisms. but i still dont like it. haha. It’s too Camp Rock for me. it’s too 2007 or round about them times.

  1. iffy iffy

I am so close to liking this song but it’s 2 minutes 10 seconds. do you know what, if the whole album sounded like this, I wouldn’t hold 2 minutes 10 seconds against them, but I want more of this sound and they said ANYWAY, MOVING ON. this is like paw paw of ILLIT’s latest album. it really suits le sserafim. it suits the season.

  1. need your company

the thing that really killed this for me was seeing a clip of yunjin singing the demo on weverse and wishing we got that instead. there’s so much of that when i listen to this album, thinking of better versions of the songs we got, and you don’t wanna be feeling that do you. I thought maybe in the 2nd studio album they would do the thing of giving each member a song, in which case yunjin could have gone with the demo. but i don’t reach for this. i don’t think it makes sense on the album

  1. sonder

sonder i’m fine with, for the same reasons i like iffy iffy. I like the twinkliness and the reverb on the voices, it blends well, and the /sonder sonder/ part is less annoying that the repetition in other songs. but overall, i don’t think the world needed it. do you know what i mean. like even if it’s fine, in the context of all that production and financial support, all of those brains, it’s whatever.

  1. saki (feat. Aliyah’s Interlude)

i kinda hate this. big waste to basically repeat an earlier song, but instead of improving on it, making a mess of a much sharper idea. 1-800-hot-n-fun is right there. skip!!!!!! and i say that as someone who loves a song where someone people basically just talk. i say that as someone who loves sakura hahaha. I hate the who the heck’s Sakí line where the stress falls on the last syllable. guys i dunno it just winds me up

  1. irony

similar issues here. you have never heard the word irony said the way its said in this song. like, to fit the lyrics in with the beat, it’s said like AYYY-ROWNY. it winds me up. just write different lyrics?? but largely i think this song is forgettable, and again, with all that money, why bother

  1. trust exercise

the only song that has managed to make an impression because of the music itself, and maybe because it feels the most le sserafim to me. but it’s still like… B tier. nothing on this album redeems it for me. I will take this point to say: i want perfect night, i want ash, i want blue flame and kawaii and no celestial. this album feels like a draft that got published before it was done cooking. it feels like it’s trying to do too much, but not really achieving anything. it sounds a bit fed up?

  1. liminal space

i like the idea of this type of content being on albums in theory but am i still listening at this point? noooo im so sorry im not

i’ll now leave you with boompala, the song i hate most, so you can endure the ai as well:
